Crust is an online magazine that recognizes the collective meanings of our relationships and individual stories with food. Founded by designer, Jeff Close, the magazine launched in 2019 after his own relationship with eating drastically changed over the course of a year. This fueled an interest to develop an independent platform rich in diversity and thoughtful stories that often go untold. Crust emphasizes the importance of journalism and editorial content through the intersection of art.

Submissions

Crust examines the cultural significance of food. It was created in search for a greater understanding of food's role, by provoking answers that go beyond culinary learning. We welcome people from anywhere, with any background, to contribute. We're always looking for narratives, reportage, photo essays, op-eds, interviews, and personal essays.
